A textile creation session using threads and embroidery to stitch
together stories. During this workshop, you will use basic stitching and embroidery techniques while engaging in playful group activities. We will create something inspired by the role of thread as a metaphor for infinite connections. At the end of the session, you will take a small personal textile art ready to hang.
This is an open door class. Visitors to the gallery will be able to view and interact with participants.
No previous experience necessary. All levels and ages are welcome.
Materials will be supplied. Participants are welcome to bring personal pieces of textiles and threads they would like to work on.

About the facilitators
Violante Binazzi is an international art educator, with experience in working in museums, schools and European projects. She is the founder of the Intregral Art Method which combines physical and emotional self- awareness techniques with the appreciation and creation of art. It can be used as a tool for youth and adults alike to connect and align with our senses while experiencing the work of other artists and tapping into our inner consciousness for self expression.
She believes in an holistic education, and in the power of cultivating kindness and compassion with children and adults. Learn more about her work, here.
Carolina Reis is a Francophone Luso-Canadian artist and designer living for over 25 years in what we now call Canada. She draws with threads and textiles to make visible what cannot be grasped with words. She is experienced in teaching and facilitating workshops and art events for groups of all ages and levels.
Being deeply committed to the environment and the future of life on earth, it is important for her to be socially and environmentally responsible in all aspect of her work. For this reason, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge and empowering people to make and create before consuming.
